2020 Art Walk West Presented by the West Dallas Chamber of Commerce

EVENT DETAILS:
When: Saturday, October 24 , 11am-6pm (drive-thru) 4-6pm (virtual)

What: A celebration of the creative culture in West Dallas with a virtual and in-person self-guided tour. The 6th annual Art Walk West aspires to create a safe space for community connection through the arts while also lifting artistic voices addressing issues of social justice.

Where: Please refer to the “How to Art Walk” details below.

Admission:  Free and open to the public.

Why: West Dallas has one of the city’s largest concentrations of artists and artist studios, many of which are housed in the emerging Tin District. Art Walkers from DFW and beyond can experience the thriving creative movement that continues to grow in this community.

HOW TO ART WALK:
Drive-thru experience: This map provides the locations for the drive-thru stops.  The map is also pictured below. The 16 wall murals can be seen along Sylvan Ave and Singleton Blvd, while the art studios and galleries are on Fabrication Street (75212). Masks are required and each public space is limited to 10 people. Printable versions of the maps will also be available at the art spaces and galleries.

Virtual experience: Please follow the West Dallas Chamber of Commerce Facebook Page to tune in for the live virtual experience from 4-6pm. Can’t make it during that time? The recording will be available on the page for your enjoyment at a later date. 

Tour Stops Include:
– 16 murals painted “live” in locations across West Dallas
– Art exhibits at Sweet Pass Sculpture Park, the Tin District, and ex ovo
– An inaugural show at 500x Gallery, which recently moved from Deep Ellum
– A juried art show by prominent artists Sedrick and Letitia Huckaby
– Deadbolt Studios will have installations outside created by Tabatha Trolli and Jer’Lisa Devezin

CODE OF CONDUCT: In order to ensure that the 2020 Art Walk West is a safe event, we require that all attendees follow the AWW Code of Conduct for in-person tour stops:

– Protective face masks and 6 feet social distancing are required at all times.
– Each public space will be limited to 10 people.
– Follow entrance and exiting instructions.
– If you do not feel well, or have COVID-19 symptoms or exposure, please stay home.
– Treat attendees, artists, and staff with patience and respect.
– Anyone who does not comply will be asked to leave.
– Attendance at tour stops acknowledges consent to Code of Conduct and policies
